So we're not celebrating Thanksgiving today like normal people. Why, you ask. Because JB HUNT the wonderfully selfish company my Husband works for doesn't observe Holidays. So we're making Thanksgiving Sunday. Doesn't bother me, cause I didn't have to cook the Turkey today, but I do have to do it Sunday. My mom will take Gav out for a few hours so I can prepare and everything without chasing an 18 month old around, which will be nice. Plus we get to have our own special day that nobody else has (that we know of anyway). So to those of you who actually got to eat Turkey and stuff today, Happy Turkey Day!

Snoring
GOOD GOD HELP ME!!!
My wonderfully ignorant husband is back to snoring again. And this time it's worse then it has been in years. He's had this horrible cough for months upon months now, and I finally got sick of it and sent him to the doctors to get it fixed. They find out he has chronic sinusitis and post nasal drip which combined with smoking (which he thinks I'm oblivious to him still doing) is making him cough. Any person with a little bit of logic would go see an ENT and actually do what they're told.
Nope not my husband, he goes once and gets told he needs 1 of 2 things done and then he never goes back. Well duh- no wonder you not getting better. So today we take him to the allergy dr. to have him tested to make sure nothing household is contributing to his cough. We find out he is allergic to horse, feathers (which he has a feather pillow- sorry honey say bye bye to that) several kinds of weeds and trees (pecan and maple being 2 of them) and roaches. Thankfully we're not gross people, or he'd have a problem. The allergy specialist laughed at him when she found out he was still smoking and complaining about his cough...talk about a here's your sign moment.
She suggested he get a second opinion from another ENT since the other one didn't give us much to work with. It was either spend 2k out of pocket or lets do surgery and see if that helps a little. So Monday I get to schedule an appointment for him, I think I'm going to send him to my ENT since he's done such great work on me. Hubby is now on antibiotics to clear up this sinusitis and they're putting him on something for heartburn cause he's always saying his stomach burns. And she's going to try and get our insurance to approve chantix for him to help him quit smoking.
I married a mess...And I can't sleep, his snoring keeps me up at night cause it sounds like darth vader is in bed next to me with a head cold. So I spend half my night shoving and kicking and slapping him to stop him from snoring and trying to roll him over to his left side since he doesn't snore as loud then. I can't take much more then this, and to top it off I'm supposed to be going back to work in a little over a week. How the heck am I gonna do that if I can't sleep!!!

The surgery and the fun after
So,
As promised here is the surgery story. October 25th I had a Tonsilectomy and a cyst removed from my left maxillary sinus (the ones behind your cheek). Surgery went good, as you can see from me waking up from the general here.
The surgery itself lasted almost 4 hours, and would have started on time if it had not taken 10 attempts and 3 blown veins to get the IV catheter into a vein. I was wonderfully bruised...
When I got home that day I was doing pretty good, I was able to text a few people and let them know all went well but it was pretty hard to talk cause my throat was very raw. It felt like they had glued sand paper to the roof of my mouth and each time i swallowed the grit was running down my throat, scratching the whole way down. Thankfully they gave me Liquid Lortab, which for those of you who don't know it is a narcotic mixed with tylenol and used for "moderate to moderately severe pain" as the bottle says. I pretty much slept for a few days except to get up and do random things since you can't really rest when you have a one year old. Even if other people are there to help out the maternal instinct is still there. The next pics are not the prettiest, as they are of my throat. The first one is the morning after, the second one is 3 days after and the last one is 6 days after.
So, my mom and husband watched Gavin the day of and that whole weekend. But, Gavin had to go to daycare the following week and guess who had to take him, while on liquid lortab none the less. So, he goes to daycare that Monday, Tuesday, and gets dropped off Wednesday and I get home and 2 damn hours later the phone rings, it's the daycare. Someone had to come get him because he had blisters on his hands and feet from a child who had bit him the week previous that hand HFMD (hand and foot in mouth disease) normally this would be no big deal cause you just get some blisters on your hands and feet and in your mouth then they go away a week later. But lucky me, I just had throat surgery and it could be extremely dangerous to me and put me in the hospital. So, I had to have Mike leave school and take off work (which got him suspended for 3 days) and this is what Mike looked like for a few days after, so I didn't get it.
It was definately an interesting week. Gavin didn't get the blisters in his mouth and he only ended up with a total of 5 blisters on his hands and feet. But guess what...Mike got it!!! Thankfully he was in Tucson for his drill weekend because his hands and feet were covered. When he came back they were pretty much gone but he still had to sleep on the couch for a few nights to be sure. Now, I'm doing pretty good, I had a follow up on Friday and everything looks good except that I got a throat infection which happens pretty frequently in adults when the scabbing starts to come off of the tonsil site. So they put me on a massive 2 day dose of antibiotics to knock it out and I go back on the 20th for a recheck. The surgery itself and the recovery weren't really bad it just hurts like hell to swallow anything, I lived off of crushed ice and slimfast for the first week and graduated to mac & cheese and popcicles after that and I have been eating real food for about 4 days now and it's very sore to eat anything that's not soft but not any more sore then if you had a cold. Hope you enjoy the pics!
